|---|---|---|---|
| This site contains all Lobbans recorded in Scotland's Old Parish Registers from 1553 to 1854 and in the Statutory Registers from 1855 to 1905. Additionally, 1881 and 1891 census information has been used as well as data from other sources on the web to derive family groups. Limited information on other spellings of the name (Loban, Lobin, etc.) has also been included. The origin of the name suggests that all Lobbans should be able to trace their family tree back to the 13th century in a place called Drumderfit in Easter Ross, Scotland. The aim of the project on this site is to create a family tree of all 'Lobbans' descended from the first ever Lobban. Since there are a variety of spellings of the name, the family tree will eventually have to accommodate these variants. However, for the moment, Lobbans and other spellings of the name have been kept separate. In order to limit the size of the task, only Lobbans registered in Scotland are included. All data on this site has been created for personal use and some family links have been created on the basis of unverified information. Also, the software used to generate these pages has not yet been totally de-bugged - apologies for any incorrect family associations. Back Soon
